SYSTEMS LEARNING PATH

Systems and Low-Level Programming Roadmap

A cross-language route through native programming, Linux command-line topics, memory/runtime study, and an optional assembly specialization.

Who this path is for

Learners interested in memory, runtimes, command-line environments, and native programming.

Before you begin

Choose one native-language foundation; C, C++, and Rust are alternative starting points in this catalog.

Learning outcomes

  • Choose and study a native language
  • Continue into memory, ownership, or runtime topics
  • Select optional command-line and assembly branches

STEP BY STEP

Your learning sequence

Core stages are ordered. Branches are labeled as recommendations, choices, or optional follow-ons.

  1. Choose one path

    Choose a native-language foundation

C covers pointers and dynamic memory; C++ Part 1 covers pointers, smart pointers, and OOP; Rust covers references and ownership. Choose one rather than completing all three.

    • CCourseCourse page is public; selected sections require login.
    • C++ - Part 1CourseCourse page is public; selected sections require login.
    • RUSTCourseCourse page is public; selected sections require login.
  2. Recommended background

    Linux command-line background

Study command-line navigation, files, processes, networking, package management, and SSH as supporting systems context; it is not required before native-language courses.

  3. Optional branch

Deepen memory, resource, or runtime knowledge

Continue within your chosen language: C resource management, C++ advanced language features, Rust ownership practice, or .NET intermediate language. These are distinct branches.

  4. Optional branch

    Choose a machine-code specialization

The verified assembly courses have architecture/toolchain-specific outlines. Continue through the dedicated Assembly Programming roadmap rather than treating each assembler course as a consecutive requirement.
